| Smyrna Rexall History
Dr. B.B. Gracy, a graduate of the University of Virginia Medical School, started Smyrna Rexall in 1895. The Tennessee native was just 21 years old when he arrived in Smyrna. Gracy’s Nephew, Dr. J.S. Lowry, later operated the pharmacy. Soon later Allen Gooch ran the business until it was sold to Dr. J.B. Berry in the 1930’s.
Smyrna Rexall stayed in the Berry Family until 1966, when the present owner Dr. H.G. Cole, purchased the business. Smyrna Rexall is the only remaining full service independent pharmacy in Smyrna. Today at the current location on Enon Springs Road, the pharmacy in run by Brian Lee Cole, the youngest of Grady’s sons, and Grady's grand-daughter, Heather Cole.
Smyrna Rexall strives daily to offer a personal family touch to each customer, while providing the latest in current drug information and technology with the use of computers and online services.
As of December 2003, Smyrna Rexall expanded by opening a second location in the StoneCrest Hospital. StoneCrest Rexall Drugs hopes to serve the Smyrna community for many years to come and with the same personal attention to our patients and dedication to our neighbors' health as we have done at our Enon Springs Road location for over 100 years. We have recently moved across the street at our new S. Lowry Street location which now has drive-thru access.
